The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), statutory organisation, was constituted in September, 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. Further, CPCB was entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

EPR Plastic
EPR Registration is mandatory for producers of certain products, such as plastic packaging, under the guidelines set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in India. EPR E-Waste
The producers are required to have arrangements with authorized dismantlers/recyclers either individually or collectively or through a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) or E-Waste Exchange system as spelled in their EPR Plan, which is approved/authorized by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
